A602 - Speed Monitoring?
For a few days now there have been double sets of cables across the A602 from the Westmill land fill all the way to the top of Broadhall Way in Stevenage. At least 15 sets by my count. I assume they must be for measuring speed - if they were just to count cars why would you need 3 sets on the Watton by-pass alone?
Now, apart from the chicaney bit at Hooks Cross, that is a 60mph road all the way. Is this part of a plan to measure traffic speed with a view to reducing the speed limit I wonder?

It is but it's also linked to assessing the impact of the West of Stevenage development hence the strips in various places in Hertford. Sadly I have to endure frequent East of England Plan meetings...
