Christmas events in Hertford
I have parents arriving this weekend to kick off the Christmas spirit and was wondering what we could do that's Christmassy. In past years, we have seen the lights switched on in town and seen the St Andrew's Christmas tree festival but I can't find details of either of these events this year. Does anyone out there know if this is happening this weekend? Or know of any other events/places where three generations can get into the swing of Christmas?

Thanks but this thread just said details about the switching on of the lights were "to follow". Not keen on just standing about in the dark just waiting!

There's a Christmas craft fayre on at Hertford Castle on Saturday & Sunday.

Lights being switched on on 3rd Dec at 4.30, but there is plenty going on over the weekend - send me an e-mail and I'll send you over the Christmas edition of The Hertford Mail as produced by our Town Centre Manager. This has all the information you will need.

Sunday December 3rd in brief.
Salisbury Square - 2.30pm, carols from Top Hat Stage School
3.30pm live band from White Hart
4.15pm Mayor and Santa arrive for photo call. Sweets, chocs c/o M&S
In square - burgers, Claydons fish; in White Hart mulled wine and hog roast.
Lights offically turned on at 4.30pm. Cup for best window presented. HDOS in costume promoting panotmime
More shops than normal open on Sunday and many shops have made a good effort at the window dressing comp.
There is also arts and crft fair at Castle with Santas grotto.
