Passed by the shop that is next door to Bollywoods, the Indian, where you used to get very expensive women's shoes and lo and behold another hairdressers!!!!! Do we really need yet another one, opposite Saks and one of god knows how many in hertford, ware etc. I really am quite baffled and as the town is losing book shops and other useful shops what pray tell is the point of this!!??

Point, but that's a barbershop, NOT a predominantly womens hairdressers, where we like the full monty of space to put our large handbags on the floor to pay for the high price haircuts, and if you have the choice between 10 salons why would you scale down when you can have the facial, manicure and fuller service??? I just think in the grand scheme of things, surely there is a better usage of that space than yet again another over-subscribed sector..

Sorry I haven't seen it, does it have the sign up yet? does it say Women's hairdressers? Maybe it is a stylist from one of the existing salons that has decided to go it alone, already has a strong customer base, but understands her/his limitations and has only gone for a small outlet initially. I think you have to weigh up all the possibilities before jumping to conclusions. Maybe its just a new business venture for a promising Hertford Entrepreneur. Good luck to them, as someone else said, at least its not another empty unit.

Well empty or full we seem to lose more shops than we ought to, as a county town I think we should encourage a bit more diversity. A lot of our shops blame the parking nightmares and over zealous traffic wardens.. we shall see I guess...

I had a blow dry at the new salon today, it is called ISSI. (Tom I could not get in with you). The staff were friendly and I was very happy with my blow dry - a bargain at £15 (this is 25% discount on all services in salon which applies from now until the official launch on Sat of this week phone number is 589000). It is a salon with a difference, first they are going to open on Sundays and also they are providing a mobile hairdressing service so you can get your hair done anywhere. The owner and some of the stylists used to work at Dead S****ey in Hertford and they also have a stylist from Toni & Guy in Luton. I have to disagree with Drama Queen, in an affluent area such as Hertford there can never be too many salons. I will certainly be going back there and will be recommending it to my friends.

Good to hear that they're differentiating themselves from other hairdressers. Far too many people open up shops without any apparent business plan (or acumen comes to that!) and just expect customers to walk in the door. I've spoken to people who've opened new shops in the town and offered them a free page on this website and only one of them has ever come back to me. You'd think a new business in town would jump at the opportunity of some free advertising.

We're a unisex hairdresser, so everyone's welcome. We don't do pets though (yet!). Maybe I was a little over enthusaistic when I said our Minis will be 'flying' around, but if anything we'd hope that the home-hairdressing service will decrease the traffic in town. The stylists should go from home to home instead of coming back into the town centre between appointments, and this will mean there won't be so many people coming into town just for their hair! I sort of assumed that Tish must be a friend of one of our stylists from what she said earlier, but it seems she was an unbiased customer. [:)] Thanks very much for such an encouraging review [:)]!
