Foxholes farm
We had a beef joint from foxholes farm ( on the way out to hertford heath ) and it was excellent, they also had some excellent sausages from Suffolk! lots of other bits and pieces up there too.
Also see they've got plans for opening a proper new farm shop, rather than just tagged onto the end of the house, sounds good, sooner it opens the better!

Never had complaints over the quality, just wish they had more choice. But excellent news if its expanding. The chickens from there are superb.

We have recently had some fantastic beef and horseradish sausages from there. This was our first experience of Foxholes Farm and we will definitely be making regular trips from now on.

We have had beef from there in the past and it was excellent. They also have a stall at the farmers market in town for anyone who can not get to the farm.

Does anyone know if they sell fruit and veg here too? or is it more just meat based goods?
Was thinking that I could avoid the 'nightmare before christmas' scenario at the supermarket....scrabbling around for the last mouldy sprout!

just meat at the moment, what they'll sell in the new shop is unknown..

You could always stop at the 'farm shop' just outside of Bengeo (the trailer full of veg etc)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. As I am fairly new to the area, I do not know where the farm shop just outside of Bengeo is Im afraid. Would you be able to post a few directions. Also, if there are any other farm shops around Hertford I would love to know about them.

The "farm shop" is not a shop as such. An old boy, known locally, for the last million years as "Reg the Veg" has a tractor which outdates Stephenson's Rocket and a trailer which is piled with veg.
Drive out of Bengeo along the B158, go past the Crouchfields development on your right, and as you dip down the hill, Reg is on the right hand side in the entrance road to the farm. Normally has some old blackboards out advertising his spuds and "horse" carrots.
