Five Horseshoes, Little Berkhamsted
Can this be considered as Hertford? It is closer than the Beehive at Epping Green.
We ate here last night. Must say that food was fantastic, service was great and the staff were extremely friendly. Real ale was in top condition too. Would not hesitate in returning, and sampling the mixed grill. It looked fabulous as it went past to another table. The prices are not too outlandish either.

We had Sunday lunch there three weeks ago and the service was very slow but it was busy and the food was good so we didn't really worry about it. Gave it a go again last night and the service was simply awful. We ended up paying for our drinks and walking out. I'm saddened that what was (and still can be) a great pub is ruined by really bad staff.

I reviewed this pub a year or so back and admin deleted me as it's all of 2 mins outside Hertford.

That's a shame because it is a really nice pub and it's not that far out of Hertford. Definitely recommended.

From his name I'd guess a Ford Anglia - its the super wide wheels that make the difference [:)]
