Yates Closed....
I see that Yates Menswear in Fore Street is "closed for refurbishment".
Judging by the uncollected mail and lack of workmen I wonder if this is the usual euphemism.
I seem to remember Yates Ladieswear up the road similarly closing before it became Issi.

It does look that way, but I'd like to point out that neither shop was anything to do with me!

Hardly think that one free rag, and some junk mail means that Yates are going south. For Hertfords sake please give the retailers a chance before verbally closing them down. For every one person that says they are shut, others won't visit!

Surely if a shopper has a fortune to spend on clothing they may be more inclined to go to an area that has a proliferation of expensive shops e.g. Bond Street, where there will be more choice, rather than be limited to one overly expensive shop in Fore Street?
