Swinging Hertford
As a new boy to Hertford, or at least a re-joiner, could anyone tell me what's hot and what ain't? Where to all the single early 30's go these days?

Dave, this website tells you a bit about what Hertford currently has to offer - see the pub guide. Also, the forums feature a bit of chat about which pubs are full of kids, noisy, serve good food or whatever. Have a browse through. As for my suggestion, if you're looking to pull, there's really only one place for the 30-something vertical drinker and that's Baroosh on Fore Street. Thursday is Single Mums, Friday is Divorcee night and Saturday is a free for all; Hertford Rugby Club favour it for their post-home-match celebrations so make of that what you will. Also popular is Elberts and the Stone House and if you still haven't pulled when they close, there's always Zeros which is much maligned as the last refuge of the desperate but in fact has quite a good-natured atmosphere and is full of people of all ages from teenagers to 40-somethings all dancing badly and having a good time. If you're not on the pull and you like loud live music, the Marquee is a grand night out, check out their website to find out what's on, I'm sure there's a link to it somewhere on this site. Welcome back to Hertford and have fun, but please don't throw up in my front garden on your way home. Cheers.
