Is £240k jaw dropping? Most flats in Hertford are more than that these days. I was more put off by Steve "[Edited]" Wyman representing Shepherds with yet another way off the mark valuation. He always undervalues. Then it looks like he's a great agent because he gets the sale!

I found the Murphy woman particularly irritating. If you're doing up a property to sell and make a profit, you don't design it to satisfy your own whimsical tastes. She had no business acumen whatsoever. [:0]

Steve, that is what they all do though. They are crazy sometimes. It's common sense that if your going to property develop there is no point whatsoever of putting your 'personal touch' to the property as it just wastes your money and eats away at your profit. All you've gotta do is give the buyer a blank canvass to work with. Paint all the walls magnolia and job done and make sure it's finished to a high standard. Easy!! haha.

Isn't there capital gains tax to pay if you sell a (done up) property that isn't your main residence? The program didn't mention that at all when it said how much profit the sellers had made in each case.

What I couldn't understand was how if the agents valued it at £210k and £215k then it sold for £240K?! Surely they would have put it up for the value the agent suggested?
