One of the "blinged" up vauxhall corsa's with the huge tail pipe exhausts, being driven by a 17 year old spotty baseball capped bloke and his mate, front seat, sitting outside of window which was wound down, so he's hanging out of the car as its being driven fast and attempting, as being driven past, to push the button of the pedestrian crossing opp. Castle hall!!!! whilst moving!!!!! He also had a can in his hand and it wasn't soda!!!! Couldn't believe my eyes... they carried on and tried to reach out to the stag monument!!!

That same Corsa was out last night, screaming around outside the Duncombe. One complete idiot driving, another even bigger idiot with a can of beer, sitting on the windowsill hanging right out of the car. In hindsight I should have taken the registration and reported it. Only a matter of time, and if I see him injured/losing an arm/etc I _will_ laugh and point at him.

What I don't understand is if you or I behaved like that, putting other roadusers and pedestrians lives at risk of injury or death, the might of the law would lock me up for a long time... CCTV are all around these areas, what the hell are they doing??? Looking, watching and doing nothing. At the very least, the passenger isn't wearing a seatbelt!!! I have to be in Hertford all the next weekend to work at the Castle Hall for a drama production, Ihope that when I have to vacate the CH at the end of the night, these jokers aren't around... I don't mind fun, but this is taking the proverbial!

I think somebody probably did report these idiots to the police, as they were stopping some cars opposite the Lord Haig and giving the drivers breath tests last night at around 11 o'clock. Hope they caught them too...

I think small cars in gerneral are the idiot's car of choice, as they're cheaper to bling up, with exhaust pipes big enough to kick a football up and the fake GTI stickers and blacked out windows. God knows why they don't realise wthey look like utter fools

I see we've now moved away from the original topic (which was a specific instance of silly and dangerous behaviour by a car passenger) and into the comfortable off-topic territory of sneering at people we consider inferior to us, because we don't understand them. I might use the word 'oik' in my earlier post but it was not referring to all lads who drive small cars, just the mindless tiny minority. Given the events I think that's not unjustified. I used the word 'oik' in context, not to describe those who buy cars and spend their hard earned cash doing them up. I used it specifically to describe those at the other extreme, for which there is evidence of their behaviour. Why don't you come to my neighbours house and tell her why she should be more tolerant towards those that: 1) trashed her car 2) Increased her insurance costs 3) made her feel less safe in her home 4) stole personal items 5) have resulted in her buying a lower spec car to avoid the same happening again. I think you would find the term 'oik' one of the least offensive in her vocabulary. In addition, I question how tolerant any of us would be if this had happened to us or someone we know. I know I would have been just as livid. I can only assume you have misunderstood my post. Please read it again. I never said all those who buy low-spec cars are oiks. I never said that all those who buy low-spec cars are car-strippers. What I did say was that oiks buy low-spec cars.
