Cafe Nero
Spent some of the CP savings on a Panini (is that how you spell it) this lunchtime - my first visit to Cafe Nero. Have to say v. disappointed. Surly service & more to the point said Panini (pre-packaged) but grilled in-store turned out when tasted at home to be not the Ham & Brie stated on the package that I had a desperate & unusual need for, but some concoction with tomato & not much else. And even the basics were sub-standard.
Staff who spend more time talking to each other than looking after their (at the time sole customer) & some guy who was rudeness personified don’t a good eatery make..
Posting said to their website . Will let you know any response.

I have always had nothing but good, fast & professional service in this place. Believe me when I say that if it was ever bad I would be the first one to scream and shout about it!

Sorry to hear about that. Normally despite some pretty monstrous customers at times the team are very friendly. I hope they sort out your problem and only hope its okay for you... Very saddened to read[:(]

Must say, have heard from Mrs CP that a v apologetic letter & some vouchers landed on the doormat earlier this week. Impressed how quickly & professionally they dealt with the complaint...

cafe nero is awful microwaved food, horrible place. went there once over a year ago and my panini had a big bit of plastic rapping in it which i half ate... not nice.

cafe nero isnt a place to go to eat anything other than the cakes!
The cakes are gorgeous and always fresh, and the coffee is always good - nowhere else in hertford can you get a decent coffee!

always had good coffee and service, think they griddle/toast the paninis not microwave.
Nick was always the best, has moved on to Nero in cambridge i think.

I think Cafe Nero should just stay with the coffee/cake/biccies.. Nick is a friend of mine who is doing well that the company need him to help set up their other new stores. I hope he comes back to Hertford.. I miss him [:(] I think there is a market for a panini/croissant/cafe and toasted sandwich outlet.. but where would you put it! I think the comments have been a little harsh. I think the food is great, but, some more training for the newer staff on food handling and all that????
