A friend is looking at a house in Cecil Road, near the junction with Purkiss Road - a big semi. The estate agent is saying that there are some flats at one end of the road where one might not wish to live, but that the rest of it is perfectly fine. I don't know that side of Hertford so can't advise if this is right. Can anyone else? Thanks!

Its got a bad reputation as it is a council estate and yes there are incidents there of loud arguements, children setting fire to cars and neighbours not getting along but don't tar everyone who lives there like that. I lived there for 5 years and after what I had come from we just needed a place to live. We paid our rent and kept ourselves to ourselves.

It's the rogue element that get on my Man Breasts!! Should be a three strikes and you're out approach. If they cant respect where they live, I'm sure there are plenty of other people who would gladly take over their property

Don't think there is anything wrong with Pinehurst, Sele Farm or Hornsmill if you compare Hertford to other towns. As I have lived in Pinehurst for four years, went to school at Sele and am moving there shortly and have many friends in Hornsmill, I feel I have a valid opinion. Mine is that everywhere in Hertford is fine but you can have undesirable neighbours ANYWHERE in Hertford. Don't make sweeping statements due to an over the top stigma assigned by snobby people.

Yes but you imply that people from Sele Farm are inherently bad if you read all the posts on this thread. You are almost saying "I agree Sele Farm is rough as I was targeted by one of them". If you had said "I am not saying everybody from Sele Farm is a thief but our house was targeted by somebody from there" I am not putting words in your mouth but it is the implication of your comment.

Guys, this topic has been beaten to death on other threads. I believe the thread is about living on Cecil Road, not about community members that may or may not live on Sele Farm/Pinehurst/other and the airing of perceived or actual predjudice that may or may not be inferred through the individual interpretation of the written word.

It is about Cecil Road but I get fed up with people in this town looking down their nose at anyone who has lived or associates with Pinehurst, Hornsmill or particularly Sele Farm.
