Proposed offices and housing in Railway St

A planning application has been submitted for a modern three storey building on the old Abbis forecourt on the corner of Railway Street and St.John's Street, opposite Powell's undertakers. The proposed building consist of offices and flats with underground carparking. The plans also feature a semidetached house on the site of the old Abbiss workshop and the conversion of the buildings next to the left of The Dolphin into flats. Good Lord more traffic to spill out onto Ware Road! I did see this planning application when looking through the other day and thought NO! NO! NO! What is the planning up to! we are now up the gunnels with affordable houses and flats (I think not! have you seen some of the prices) Can they squeeze anymore in I wonder, I bet they can, Hertford is bursting at the seams. I know, lets turn it into a green area and have something useful, if the morons who come off the trains do not tear it up, you never see planning permission for a green peaceful park area, still, no money to be made in that!
