Mushrooming!!
Hello all.
Am planning on going for a walk this weekend in the pursuit of mushrooms and all this fungi - a walk to look at and i.d, not pick and eat I hasten to add.
Now I'm not expecting people to reveal their top secret mushroom walks, however I thought someone may like to recommend a nice Hertford ramble where one might come across a good selection of the afore mentioned mushrooms..
Your advice will most appreciated. [:)]

Try the Hertford Triangle ramble..... Start at Waitrose,... then on to M&S .. then to Tesco .. but don't expect to find many fresh ones there;)

There are some great mushrooms on the Goldings Estate, but it's private. There is a public footpath running through parts of it - best advice is get a footpath map and create your own ramble or join the Ramblers Association [:)]

not a great deal of decent mushroom walks in hertford.
Nomansland common near wheathampstead is great, epping forest is good, ashridge estate near tring is very good, but for me the best place is near my home in scotland, huge ceps and lovely girolles, problem is its a fair walk to get there.
Incidentally, this year is not a great year for mushrooms, summer was too wet.

in the mean time come and try my wild mushrooms and lambs kidneys on toast, or my grilled plaice with ceps and salsify. ....plug.
