Alongside other events on Sunday December 2nd Hertford Museum is organising a Treasure Trail. Starting at the Museum it involves following a list of clues around the town and finding hidden clues in many of the shops that will be open. Hopefully it will be a great oppportunity for the family to have a wander around the town and in and out of buildings and historic sights they didn't know about. When my opposite number Dave Walton was asked on Hertbeat about the Ten Wonders of Ware (they sort of dropped that after that visit) he said quite rightly 'look up at the architecture not down at the street'. Quite right. That is one of the aims of Hidden Hertford and one of the reasons we are sponsoring this day for the Museum - to showcase Hertford's History and Architecture to a wider audience. Entry is free and the first prize is a family ticket to a family venue - not yet decided but Madame Tussauds or Alton Towers is favourite along with a family ticket to HDOS pantomime for the runner up - also sponsored by Hidden Hertford. At the same time there is Tudor food, Tudor music and Tudor handicrafts and most probably Tudor weather as well. Owing to other committments on the day Sloop will not be dressed as Henry 8.[8)]
