Looks like the flat in Farm Close have taken their's down. Must have been a one off of some sort. Can't wait for Hawthorne Close to light up.

Emma, at christmas Hawthrone Close glows, i am sure if you listen careful enough you can hear the electricty humming!!! You will have to come and have a look once they all have their lights on!

Just seen a flat in central london with coloured fairy lights in the window. Not as impressive as the one in Parnel road in Ware though

Please tell us as soon as these lights go up! I cant believe they can be worse than the Parnell Close picture! I will have to take a look! So does the traffic tend to build up in Hawthorne Close once the lights go up!

I have only noticed them in the daytime but I am sure they look lovely lit, must make the effort to go and look! It did make me wonder why the "town centre" light are not up yet by the time they get them up Christmas will be over as usual!! Also noticed the pub on parliament squre ( I still think of it as the blackbirds) has some chritmas painted windows.

Town centre lights are being installed 29/30 November. As things go, quite late - but you always save the best till last!! Most probably lit by 1 December but the official turning on not until 5th.

You are to be congratulated Mr Sloop for not putting up the Christmas lights too early (as seems to be the trend) There is no need for christmas decorations to go up before the first of December as Christmas doesn't start until 25th December. I like to start getting into the festive spirit around 10th December - that way at least the christmas tree stands a chance of still having needles on christmas day [;)]

Thanks for the congrats chaps. My face is red enough to light up the whole of Hertford.[:I] Had to make a few running changes today and unfortunately lost a set of lights owing to problems with load bearing fittings but on the whole I hope everyone in Hertford will be pleased with the outcome. I have always looked upon this as Year 1 and a firm base upon which future Christmas town centre decorations can be built. Hope everyone can make it into town on Dec 5th. Thanks Ewoowar - Brass band booked. All I have to do now is pray for snow!!

Looking forward to seeing the new lights. The previous post was just that I remember from previous years it has sometimes take 3 weeks to get them put up a few at a time! It would seem this year is much more organised!

There are aslo some illuminated reindeer above the shops in The Avenue and Icicle lights all along the top. So Bengeo has it own decorations for the first time this year.
