Old Cross resurfacing
I see Old Cross and The wash are to be closed 7PM to 6AM for 2 weeks from 7-01-2008 ............. should be fun!

Yes, it was. So why is a new and perfectly good piece of tarmac being ripped up and replaced at goodness-knows-what cost.

And as they are doing that section why not continue up to Gasket Way roundabout, The Wash and Parliament Square are a disgrace for a county town.

It could be The Wash and Parliament Sq they are doing, the signs start near Castle Street and St Andrews Street as well so I suspect they will have to shut it all off, could be fun for anyone wanting am evening event at Castle Hall etc.

Had a chat with Herts Highways earlier and they confirmed that it's the stretch from Millbridge to the junction with the A414 by West Street. The signs are only where they are because it's part of the area that will be covered by diversions.
