Bengeo St/Cross Road
As was mentioned on another thread (can't remember which one)a ban on turning right from Bengeo Street into Cross Road at certain times was being mooted. See that they have started erecting poles,at that location, which will presumably carry the signs indicating the prohibition. I don't know when the order will come into force, but will go there when it does to watch as vehicles swing left into Warren Park Road, exit right(with extremely limited view of traffic to their right), so that they can turn left into Tower Road. What fun!

Seems pointless to me. People will probably take as much notice of these new no right turn signs as the "access only" ones that are there already and still drive through.

Not so sure. The No Right Turn signs are much easier to police as if a car is seen turning the offence is committed, whereas, anyone going through the "No Access" can give a variety of reasons for doing so, and you can't have every vehicle followed to see where they go.

Tower Road is being made one way ON to Bengeo Street, so this can't happen.

Tower STREET will be one way all day every day so no access from Bengeo Street in either direction at any time.
The right turn restriction into Cross Road is 7.30 AM to 9.30 AM I think as from sometime in January so I suspect it will make The Avenue a lot busier and it is bad enough already during the "school run".
It is a 6 month trial ( I think) so we will see, I wonder who is going to enforce it though, will we have police on the corner of Tower Street and Cross Road stopping people I wonder?

Metal posts erected in Bengeo Street, I assume for signs showing not right turn into Tower Street, do we really need more signs in our supposed village???? we are gradually blending into Hertford. Shall I mention the outline plans for Tesco's on this topic or can someone start one up?

I would have thought they could have used the existing posts but obviously not. Did you know "Bengeo Rural" doesn't start till you get to Chapmore End!
Will make life a lot easier for those of us who use Tower Street to get to bengeo Street, personally I never come in that way anyway I have always prefered Cross Road and The Avenue and the safer option.
