It's not really topical anymore. There's little chance of there ever being a cinema again in Hertford and everything that's to be said on the subject has already been said IMHO. Please feel free to start a discussion in Local Issues if you want.
For those who are new to the town or forum, there was an informal campaign to get a cinema in town a few years ago. This came about after the district council decided to dispose of a site close to the town centre. They wanted to sell it for housing but a number of local people, supported by some councillors, wanted it put to community use. The council tried hard to find an operator for the site and twice succeeded, only for the companies to pull out before construction could begin. The site in Mill Road is now housing.
