Publicity embargos and confirmations awaiting preclude me from giving full details but those who have been reading these boards for a while may be aware of the Hidden Hertford project. We have just been awarded £21,200 from the Quality of Place Fund supported by Action For Market Towns and East of England Development Agency. There are a few projects tied up in this but I can say that one will be an audio visual guide on ipods available in town featuring historic walks, ghost tours and pubs of Hertford. Some of the funding will allow us to run narrow boat trips from Maidenhead Yard to Hertford Lock and back on weekends when there is a Farmers Market commencing April 12/13. More details to follow but there has been quite a bit of activity here lately on tourism in Hertford and thought it an excellent start to the weekend to pass on some good news.
