Using "reply with quote"
When you use the "reply with quote" facility, the post that you are quoting starts with [quote] and ends with [/quote]
These are called open quote and close quote "tags"
Please do not change or move these "tags" as it will effect the formatting of your post.
It is suggested that you post your reply beneath the quote close tag

Where it gets difficult is where the message includes several previous quotes and only the last is relevent to your own reply. Is there a recommended way to delete posts above and still credit the contributor to whom you are replying?

I concur. Sometimes I have to edit the embedded chain of replies just to make my reply readable.

I don't think there is a button you can press but if you type:

Yep, did just that. All the text was there and the quote/unquote. but not the original contributor. As a result the next post replied to the first, but seemed to reply to my reply, as that ended up in the middle. God's teeth! I've confused myself now. Quick, a cold sponge to the back of the neck![:o)]

These are called open quote and close quote "tags"
Reads a lot easier if you just copy and paste the text you want and change the colour . Scrap 'reply with quote' completely .
