St George's Day
Where is the best place to go in Hertford to celebrate being a fine Englander on the 23rd?
I know of two places, both in other towns and therefore out of my reach as far as walking goes.
Any ideas peeps?

Am a great fan of St George's day, albeit the guy did come from the Lebanon. Maybe its time for Hertford ; we are the county town after all, & the rest of England to make a decision on their future . are we English or are we British or both.
As Billy Bragg (see link) says is Great Britain just a Economic Union. We are now part of a slightly bigger one. The Scots & the Welsh aren’t complaining about there newly found freedom (Ulster for obvious various reasons have had theirs on & off for decades).

And of course this would be a good time to reclaim the Flag of St George out of the hands of a few racist nutter s & back to the people. Of Hertford & other English towns (like for instance Bolton - current English hero…. Amir Khan).
And not just for the occasional World Cup………
Right where are we all going on St George's day ….. climbing off soap box.

Great post CP. The 2nd Youtube link is a very level headed, sensible and, dare I say it, obvious. No obduracy or ignorance, just plain sensible comments.
I heard Billy Bragg on radio today. I liked his statement;
"It's not about the race, it's about the place".
Simply put yet very effective.
Anyway, on-topic albeit briefly, any more suggestions for St George's Day in Hertford?
