Hi everyone Just thought I'd say thanks to Steve for mentioning my Westmill Farm Festival, which I think is going to be brilliant. But though I know it was meant humorously, I thought I should say that my thing's not intended to compete with the Bramfield Festival, which is happening the week before. On the contrary, Stella (the organiser of Bramfield) is a good mate of mine and I will be, as i have on the last two Bramfield gigs, doing my DJ thang and helping out where I can on the acoustic stage. So I'm actively helping Stella and henry and all concerned with their gig but with Stella's approval will also be relentlessly promoting Westmill! Please spread the word about both events because we all need all the help we can get. Kev Saunders

Even though the two events are not intentionally in competition with each other, I don't think this year's Bramfield Festival will be able to compete with the the Westmill Farm Festival, at least in terms of attendance, as the publicity for this years Bramfield Festival has been really poor, in fact it has been virtually non-existant. Last year they had a website and a MySpace site, and there were posters everywhere. I personally didn't think Bramfieldfest was going ahead until this thread was started on Monday.

Good point - due to lack of dosh it's taken ages to get the westmill site updated - hence the 'dummy' version having been online till recently. It's now much more accurate - though things change hourly. That said, you would have to be a bit thick not to work out where the venue is since it's only a couple of mile from Hertford and Ware. The festival site (http://www.westmillfarmfestival.co.uk) now has a link to our myspace site, which is easier to update on an ad hoc basis. Check out the Mercury for the latest news about it. I'm going to be at bramfield helping Stella and co as I always have been - and hope everyone will show up at both events

Was only there on Sunday, which was a sublimely lovely day - how kind the weather was to us. Sad that numbers seemed rather low for an excellent event - hope the ample beer sales helped to address the turnout situation. For me, Stage 2 had all the acts I enjoyed the most. Great to see Tom Dibb again, Juan Zelada was a real hit, and a coup to catch Zarif. And what a hoot Joan ov Arc - hadn't expected to enjoy them that much! I know it's showing my age, but it was all too blimmin' loud! Please let this event have succeeded enough for a repeat visit in 2010. Appreciate all your hard work in putting it on, Kev.

Yeah I saw that. Wondered how the hell they got that so big so quickly while I struggled... Now I know why. No schadenfreude but makes me feel better!
