Ah sorry , only looked in the restaurant section for a previous post . If they have been turned down in the past this must be a new bid for a licence .

Oh dear hope people weren't looking for employment in the new restauraunt, just read a report on the BBC web site about Loch Fyne paying under the minimum wage for their staff [:(!][:(!][:(!]. Just goes to show how these chain restaurants keep cost down and make it harder for independant restaurants to keep going

Cant belive another chain restaurant will be opening in the town. Please no more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter what anyone says these places cant work on the margins they do using fresh food. Maybe some of the fish is but that is it. Even with group buying power they will use a lot of frozen ingredients.

It is weird how Hertford is a magnet for restaurant chains yet cannot attract decent shop chains. Is Hertford an anomoly in this respect? If people stop eating out due to the recssion, we truly will be a ghost town.

Loch Fyne isnt a typical chain though - They'll actually be filling a nice gap in the hertford restaurant market. good luck to them, I'll be there very soon after opening! If people stop eating out, it wont be just hertford that'll have problems, the whole economy would take a massive further dive.

I can't wait for Loch Fyne to open as I like eating there. In fact I'm off to the one in Leadenall Market for lunch today! As a side note I have to say it would be nice to see some of the larger stores in town that are currently empty (McD's and Wollies) being taken over by some well know high street chains a-la Next,Gap etal as I hate seeing retail premises empty. Plus I feel a few (not loads) well know high street stores would improve the town somewhat.

We tried to make a booking for Mother P and Mrs P's birthday on the 15th (table for 8). After repeatedly being told to 'phone back later' Mrs.P had 'darling' tacked onto the end of it. Kiss of death for her. Customer service score so far: 0/10. Food review to be sorted in several month's time.

It probably will be a winner, I genuinely hope it will be a winner, and we will definately be going - with an open mind. They are a chain, however, and Mrs P expected them to have enough practice in communicating with the public already.

Called them this morning to see of they had any tables available saturday lunctime and was offered several options. Very efficiant I thought.

I've eaten in a number of other Loch Fyne's before -always good quality, good service etc.
