What a nightmare. The lido has closed and so so has their car park which commuters used to park in which means even if you have a season ticket for the station car park you can't get parked - aargh.

Sorry Citybird - are you saying Broxbourne station car park is closed ? - Isnt the Lido carpark a good 10 minute walk to the station ? - confused !

Ahh, i see ! - I use Broxbourne car park but get there quite early. Sounds like they are selling many more season tickets than places which sounds unfair...

Broxbourne is terrible for parking at the best of times unless you get there very early, must be awful now.

I'm also suffering from this problem - I had to drive to Cheshunt today, which is not ideal. What time do you have to get there to get a space? I also have a Broxbourne season ticket - I called NCP to complain but they were very unhelpul and basically said; 'first come, first served'.

I get there at 6.20am and its 1/5 full I guess but there is a steady stream of cars starting to arrive...

Great, I normally get there for the 8.18 so I may have to make alternative arrangements then! I don't mind work generally but I don't really want to be in for 7 every day.......apparently the spaces at the front of the park are £962 per year for your own space but there is a waiting list, which nobody at NCP seems to know the length of! Anyone got any other ideas for parking spaces near Broxbourne?!

Put an add out to rent a space in someone's drive - apparently quite a popular way to earn a few quid with the residents of Broxbourne!

Email [email protected] to complain, NCP just run the car park for them, very sympathetic on the phone at least and said they would follow up. NCP just saying they intend to fine anyone who parks in other peoples spaces or not in a proper space rather than managing the situation properly

Hi CB have you tried the carpark down by the river which is nearer than the Lido car park, you know the bridge right by the station there is a sharp right turn go down there about a hundred yards and the is a car park on your right I dont know what it is like in the mornings for parking there but may be worth a try, all the best Night owl

Well, I got to the station at 7.30 this morning and got one of the last spaces - by the time I got to the platform cars were coming back out of the carpark, having been unable to park. Might try the river carpark tomorrow. How did you get on Citybird?

I parked in one of the premier bays so have probably annoyed someone else - but hey ho hope they complain, the more people that do the better. NCP need to sort it out.

NCP are just thinking at the moment that they get money for the spaces whoever uses them - they don't care if some people can't park there. I have complained to National Express now - I reckon they'll be more concerned as they'll lose money if people who used to use the Broxbourne service don't now that they can't park. I've also heard that the Lido is opening the carpark there again in a month so hopefully this is only temporary!

Doesn't work for me, I do two school drop offs on the way to the station (Hertford then Ware)and often get back late. Hertford East service is pants and Hertford North you have to return via Kings X past 9 ish in the evening, not very convenient when you work in the City.

The school run makes it difficult I guess. People say Hertford East is terrible - and it's not great but by the time you've driven to Broxbourne, it probably works out a similar time to get to Liverpool Street.

There are a lot more available trains running between Broxbourne and Liverpool Street,than from Hertford East to Liverpool Street,so if there are cancelled trains,you are not stranded

Yeah you're right HE is generally rubbish. Just thought it might be worth trying to save on parking hassle and cost / petrol cost / carbon emissions etc.

Difficult to comment without seeming unsympathetic or having a go, but I am intrigued why you are dropping off children for school in Ware when you live in Hertford? Are the children too young to make their own way to school in Ware? Certainly when it was the other way around I used to catch the bus from Ware to Hertford.

My older child goes to Presdales, at least if I drop her off I know she has got there ok given I'm then in London all day.
