Ash Street Hertford ??
Trying to trace my grandads past and hit a brick wall at the moment as i cant find his birth place...
Can someone tell me how to upload images on here so you can have a look at his birth certificate and let me know if it is Ash Street in Hertford....
My father said he was born in Hertford Heath so is there a Ash Street there?

I seem to remember a thread on here about street names featuring trees. Ware road area, as I recall. I'm sure admin, or some other more able person will point you at it shortly. Try the search feature.

I found that and it did help but still not sure if its Hertford or Hertford Heath...

Ash Street was one of 3 streets there between off baker Street before you got to the Militia Barracks/ former prison.
I will get my map out and check the other 2 names (both trees) for you my Grandparents met in the fish and chip shop down there, it was owned by by Grandmothers sister and bother in law and she worked there, Grandad supplied the potato's for the chips!!
If you get one of the 1898 maps that are avaliable from HALS and possibly Books@Hertford (Museum is closed for a year!) you will be able to see the exact location

The other two streets were Oak Street and Elm Street
