I have just been flicking through the photos on the site and saw an old picture of a place called Rose's Corner? Where is/was this?

What is now Oddbins on the corner of Bull Plain, doesn't look that different really just moved the door from the corner. Next door is The Flower Pot I believe

Rose's was the name of the newsagents facing Bull Plain. It has since been absorbed into Oddbins but the frontage and old door can still be seen.

Don't know if this is the same one but this was published in the Mercury in section 'Our Time' Winter 2006. Copyright held by Peter Ruffles and taken from the Shire Hall. that picture brings to mind, PARKING the square and bull plain had about twenty odd =one hour parking slots,= within a couple of mins,you could get a slot, over an eight hour day, that was about 160 plus quick shoppers, bang right in the centre of town, that must have helped the local shops to late now, the new game in town = shops = now you see it,= now you dont = gone.

This was Rose's [img]../images/forum/rose.jpg[/img] Before Oddbins was Oddbins it was a bookshop. Can anyone remember the name? It was on all three floors so you could go up the stairs. It's a lovely old building.
