Up to 75% Off!
Just had a wonderful discussion in W.H.Smith with the till lady.
Determined to spend my £20 Christmas present I selected the new Richard Branson book off the 'SALE! Up to 75% off New and Bestsellers' stand.
Marked at £14.99, I thought I would check the new price...
£14.99.
The lady politely informed me that it was 'up to' 75% off..
Silly me. Only reading the 75% off bit.[:)]

They're all at it - Woolworths did the same during their 'closing down sale' and where I am now, Stead & Simpson are completely covering their windows with 'Closing Down' posters - but, if read carefully only refer to their warehouse - the business itself will continue as normal.
The fact is, a normal 'Sale' sign in a window carries no weight - every shop in the High Street has one as a permanent fixture.
