Valentines Night
Has anyone got any good reviews on eating out Valentines night. I read somewhere that Alexander ONeil sang in the Hertford House Hotel, but heard it was for a specific customer, not booked by the Hotel. Most places were full just wondered what they were like

I was in Bledington for the weekend so can only report on the fantastic meal we had in a local pub.

we went out on the friday night to avoid the annoying practice of 'set menu' that everywhere does on Valentines night. I know that they want to limit the impact on the kitchen, but why not offer the normal menu, ask people to pay a deposit and pre-order? that way they know exactly what to order and cut down on waste. Mind you, the set menu is always more expensive than the standard menu, so I guess that's why it gets done. It's not that I'm un-romantic, I just have a girlfriend with a lot of food dislikes and a set menu usually restricts her choices more than it would the average person

Alexander O Neil certainly was in the HHH Saturday at 11pm, he sung all his old classics and showed that he still had what it takes. If the lady that booked him for her hubands 40th is reading this, I would like to thank her again for making mine and many others evening. The HHH once again proved to be the venue of choice for the more discerning Hertfordian, long may they continue running a succesful bar, well done Nick.

Yes, talk about gutted. We were booked at the Anchor in Wadesmill (very nice though) so were unable to go to HHH. Have seen Alexander O'Neal many times over the years and he truly excels, especially in a small intimate environment.

Went to Ask. Probably the last time we'll go there. Used to enjoy this place but Saturday was awful.
