I went to a party at the scout hut behind the scooby doo bridge a few years ago. Not sure if it's still there.

My wife does some bar work at the social club at the Police station on Stansted Rd(Gallows Hill) I think it is available for hire though I'm not 100% sure

I've been to the scout hut by Scooby Doo. It's a good size. A little further out, but deceptively close, there is also Waterford village hall. And Panshangar golf club have a function room.....(I was there a week ago last Friday).

If I rang round a few of my mates I could guarantee £4000 over the bar at Stonehouse - assume you're paying, newcomer. Not too sure if Hertford Club hire out rooms for non-members. Worth a try. Salisbury Arms does but a little expensive. White Horse has upstairs rooms which clubs hire. Depends I suppose if you want to do your own catering etc.

Another option would be the Mayflower in Hertingfordbury. It has a bar and is of a suitable size for a party. I'm afraid I have no idea who to contact for bookings though.

I looked into hiring The Mayflower a few years back. It's catering was locked into a contract with the guy who had the bar contract with Castle Hall. You can also hire the bridge room at Castle Hall as long as the main auditorium is not booked. There are also rooms available at the Castle Gatehouse and the Corn Exchange can be hired. I think you can find details of local venues on the hertsdirect web site.

A bit out of town but the rugby club can be hired....not a good idea if your party is a saturday during the season though.

I think the Jolly Pindar in Hertford Heath has a function room, not sure if the catering is tied to the pub, but you could look into that. Sadly only other options are hotels just outside of Hertford, not sure Fanhams Hall is still taking bookings (some talk about it being sold???) The other option is the Priory in Ware Conservatory room and also the Three Lakes Restaurant at Wadesmill (opposite the waste dump!) no really its okay, next to the Artshed, with two function barns of different sizes and ample car parking

Hello my first post on this site, so please be nice to me! I had my 30th upstairs at Zero's, and it was great. It cost about £180, we had our own DJ and we didn't need to guarantee bar takings, and was open until 2am. Everyone said they had a great time.

You could try some of the following, Schools Richard Hall Sele Simon Ball Church Halls Bengeo (No parking though!) St Andrews All saints Baptist (again no parking) Other halls County Suite County hall Downshire Suite The Castle or Waggers have an upstairs function room in Ware

Thanks for all your suggestions. However, due to unforseen other events, we won't be holding this party quite yet but shall bear them in mind for when we do get round to it.
