chickens
can anyone tell me where I can buy some chickens as close to Hertford as poss?? there is a place in Essex which I have heard good things about but I would prefer to deal with a local business if at all poss

We got ours from Stagenhoe Bottom Farm at Whitwell. They are wonderful hens and roam freely in the garden. Our customers (not only the kids) love them. They are all POL and are vaccinated for all possible diseases etc., The cost was a very reasonable £13 each. You are welcome to come and see ours for yourself. It only took 20 minutes or so to drive there from Chapmore End.

Would definitely recommend Thornes Rare Breed Centre near us at Fairfield Park jct 10 of the A1M (Baldock Services).

You can buy eggs on ebay ready for incubation, my friend bought 6 BUFF ORPINGTON HATCHING EGGS for about £7.
