Great to see Hertford doing so well. The queue from The Stone House on a Thursday evening stretches the full length of Bull Plain back to Maidenhead Street.

why anyone would queue to get in there is beyond me. And yes when uni has broken up and sixth formers are out it does get very very busy. Though is it still shut mondays? I know for a while they shut up shop on a monday

Oh for the good old days, when bouncers in pubs only appeared for new years eve... and you could walk up to the bar and order within 2 seconds of arriving.. surely all this waiting around getting thirsty is contribuing to the "must get as much alcohol down my throat as quickly as possible" situation??? !!!

The pubs have bouncers on the door because the fine is so hefty (not just financial) should you happen to serve anyone a day under 18 years old. They're checking ID's rather than keeping the riff-raf out - infact I'd argue they're letting them in... [:D]

last night was really busy in town. Well, it was for certain venues. There were large queues outside Wetherspoons, Blackbirds, Sugar Hut and Stonehouse but elsewhere was really quiet. Baroosh was busy-ish. When we left the Stonhouse at 10pm, the queue was about 5-6 people deep and all the way back to Monsoon. Very strange though as it was by no means full. An obvious case of keeping people back so they can charge an entrance fee. It was all youngsters and the fake ID trade must be booming!! everyone was having a good time though, so fair play to them.
