The programme was great, the kayak down the small waterfall made me laugh, he should have used the Beane trib or the Castle to get his heart rate up.

Shame Hertford barely registered on the programme...apart from the interesting characters doing a spot of fishing. Learnt some interesting stuff though.

i'm not surprised - there's an enormous amount more to the Lea than hertford! 7 minutes sounds more than adequate!

He stopped in his canoe and asked my mother-in-law if he could go any further round than the basin by Old Cross Wharf and the Woolpack. It was filmed in the spring

I enjoyed the programme; the discussion with Danny C. and friend about crayfish was a bit bizarre however! As for the timing the aerial shots were later in the year or even recently as the runners on my allotment were quite well grown. They did miss out huge chunks of the river especially between Waltham Abbey and Hackney but as I cycle this route to work I can vouch for the fact that there's not much to see excepting the odd dog walker. The area around Amwell on the New River is one of the prettiest spots around and it was nice to hear of its history.

I was just wondering where that Weir is. I'm guessing that it is on the West Side of town as don't go on that part of the River. It looked like there was a footbridge accross the river above the Weir. How can I get to this?

The weir is at the back of Hartham. The bridge is the one you cross to get onto the Meads

Hertford (to a lesser degree) was on tv again between 12 & 1am this morning on the "Really" channel. The program was about Bad teeth in Britain and featured a lady having reconstructive treatment at the cosmetic dentistry practise in South Street [:D]
