Avoid Eateries on Sundays?
Apparently yesterday they were turning people away from Caffe Uno because they didn't have enough staff (we're talking about people who had already sat down and ordered here!)
...and...
Pizza Express ran out of onions and mushrooms
Pretty basic shortcomings that any decently run establishment could avoid.

Half my family are Canadian and like the Yanks if something is wrong you complain there and then and tell the owner to go and get staff in!!! They must have known in advance!!! Outrageous! If we just accept this treatment it will continue. If you are a restaurant, you serve and cook food, if you cannot deliver that, sell your establishment. I hope those poor people, who might have been celebrating a birthday or anniversary, write strong letters and get a full refund and everything!

I have been in Pizza Express when they have run of of Cheese!!! Hilarious, saying that I cant say I have ever had abad meal in there.
Caffe Uno however is a different story!

The only time we went to Pizza Express the service was dire, and that was on a weekday!

I've been in Cafe Uno when the grill was broke and all they could serve was pasta, often you go there and items are unavailable!
However the staff have always been quality when our 3 under 5's have visited (as has pizza express,) cafe rouge is tolerant (just)

but i heard a story that the flu knocked the chef out, and he is irreplaceable, so, rather than risk bad experiences its best to close and keep your rep.[;)]

Cafe Uno is quite the worst place I have eaten in...and I've been in a few bad uns.
Cafe Rouge....useless but tolerable.
Pizza Express...adequate when not fussy or with kids.

I am pleased to say that although I live 1min away from all these (so called resturants) I have never been in any of them! If I want junk food I will make it myself because a) it costs less and b)it tastes better.
I only frequent a few resturants in town my favourite being the Hillside, then the Thaya Bahn (sorry probably spelt wrong) or the Tikka Cottage. If you really don't fancy cooking and want something cheap and homely then you can't beat the Salisbury. I used to really love the french resturant opposite the Barge (Cibulet?) you might want to correct my spelling again! shame it closed down.

I will never go to cafe uno again. I booked a family get together on boxing day, and as it turned out, we were the only booking. So they faked a power cut, and went home early rather than honour the booking.
