Cottage in Duncombe Road
I see there is a cottage in Duncombe Road with a Shepherds For Sale sigh, almost opp the end of Tower Street if anyone is still looking..............no details just saw the sign, normally only see Sold ones!!

£190,000 in need of complete modernisation.
Has a driveway and a 60ft garden although inside is very very small. Saying that for the price it's a bargain!

I thought it might have. They had a lot of people round on Saturday morning/afternoon.
For the price it doesn't surprise me, although it will need a lot of work. Still judging by Duncombe Rd expect to see it back on the market in 3/4 months for £350k!

True - depends what the surveyor finds and what the bank will lend on it these days, but saying that it's probably a cash rich developer [:D]

My dad was interested in purchasing this property and was outbid by a number of others, apparently went for £180,000!

I thought it was odd it still said For Sale.................it might have helped someone.
I think it was lived in by an elderly man who lived alone so it does not surprise me it nedds complete modernisation!

For that price it was perfect for a young professional couple. Saying that I bet a developer got it. You could probably get £250,000 once the property is refurbed.

Now i can understand a developer buying this but i can't understand the developers buying all the already refurbed 2 bed houses out from under us young proffesional families! Maybe its the same person perhaps they are just going round buying everything in Hertford so they can build an empire and we will all have to rent from them.
