We all have a good idea where you can get the most expensive pint in Hertford, so I thought it would be more helpful if we could find out bar the Wetherspoons pub,where does the cheapest beer. I'll start it off with the Masters House as that is the only place in a long time that I have checked the price of a pint. Amstel £3.40 a pint.

The Old Cross Tavern on St Andrew Street does its own OXTale bitter for £2 a pint Monday 4PM to 11PM and noon to 5PM all other days

£1.75 a pint of fosters or strongbow monday to thursday in the Blackbirds. And it is dead most evenings excepts tuesday and thursday. £2 pint of amstell on a Sat night. Dont know any others.

Macks AK is not that bad as a session beer, I have had a lot worse. Back to the subject, like the Haigh the Ram also does AK for £2.50.

The cheapest pint must be in Sugar Hut... Thursday you can get 6 pints for £10 Fridays it's any drink for £2.50 and Saturdays is now £19 for all you can throw down you're neck all night long ! Oh to be young again maybe the oldun's can take it over as it's now so cheap. We would just have to remember to leave quietly [:D]

A friend of mine swore that it was the cause of his glandular fever! I also remember walking home along Hartham Lane late one evening and coming across one of the local 'characters' - now departed -stood in the street and literally singing the praises of AK towards the brewery; reminiscent of the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet! If only I could remember the words which were quite well thought out and not just a football style chant!!

Buzz - it could well have been. It was a long time ago but I remember it making me laugh at the time. Talking of 'Danny' it was his brother that was singing.

Years ago when i was a lad, i shared a bedroom with my two elder brothers who both drank AK. Not a pleasent atmospher (if you know aht i mean) But did have a pint of AK a few weeks ago anf it wasn't bad. Don't know about Hertfords cheapest pint but went to Covent Garden last week (must be one of most expensive pints in UK £4)[V]
