I have a heavy mirror to hang, and a clock to put up - is there anybody local who can pop round to do just small jobs?

I've asked a few blokies to do it and they're not really confident, and the only one who was drew a dot on the wall then ran out of time!! Going to give up asking friends to do it [;)] I was going to try to do it myself, now my drill's broken!

I was tempted to offer as well only I think I'd get in trouble what with all the small jobs on the list outstanding at my own place! :o)

Guys speak for yourselves. DQ's lovely elderly dad was very good at fixing cars, putting up shelves, made me a dolls house etc, etc. I do indeed still like to see a man who will fix my puncture on my bike, and do all these things.. but sadly a lot of the "yooth" today don't seem to have these skills anymore.. I am a dab hand myself at creosoting a fence, making putty soft, painting outside the house and in "its all in the wrist action" apparently and wiring up a plug. So please carry on doing all these things.. I like a man who can !! [:D]

quote:[:D] Roughly how long did it take to draw this dot on the wall? Was it a nice dot, or not? Can we see a picture of it? Blokie 1 1 x heavy mirror... 2 holes + 2 rawlplugs + 2 screws = 5 mins 1 x clock... 1 hole + 1 rawlplug + 1 screw = 3 mins Quick chat & clean up = 2 mins Total = 10 mins - cost, nothing. Blokie 2 1 x heavy mirror... Come out to price the job, survey the property, test the walls, plan the job. Return some time later with specialist machinery and equipment and a helper (it's a VERY heavy mirror, love), ascertain levels, utilise specially strong fixings (appropriate to the job), make a mess and leave it, 2 holes + 2 rawlplugs + 2 screws = £30 callout charge, £60/hour labour, cost of materials + handling fee + VAT 1 x clock... (I'll do the clock for nothing love, as a favour, wink wink) 1 hole + 1 rawlplug + 1 screw = 3 mins (no clearing up, because it was a favour). Total = I'll do it for £75 cash, love. Don't tell Mr. Brown! Byeee. Personally, I'd do it myself - invest in a new drill.
