A414 roadworks
There's a sign up on the A414 stating roadworks commence from 15th March for 21 weeks. Anybody know what they're actually doing? It seems to be the stretch from Gates garage to Which? heading to Hatfield

There's a similar sign posted in the other direction too, just by the roundabout as Gascoyne Way becomes a dual-carriageway.
It made me take a look at the road surface, which is terribly pitted and in need of re-laying. Though, that would not take 5 months - would it?
I can only assume that the bridge is in need of repair, similar to the work completed near Hertingfordbury.
Unless, of course, it is either the eagerly awaited Hertford Tunnel about to be dug or piles being driven for the Hertford Monorail.

The good news about this, is that it'll be maintained as 2 lanes in both directions during peak hours, so there should be no impact from the work at those times:
