Ancient Fossil found in river lea
A 200 year old fossilised item has been found in the river lea near Hertford. School children discovered the item and showed it to their geography teacher, who recognised it as something special, and old.
Other experts have now examined the item and said it could be a fossilised loaf of bread which has been preserved by being contained in silt for 200 years. The item has been named "loaf lip or" and will be on show at Hertford museum during April.

sorry got that wrong apparently it is 1200 years old not 200. Grains of barley still intact.

Somehow I think if it is on show at the museum it will only bo on one day a year, and then if tradition stands only till 12 noon[;)]...........Hope they can get it there today before 12 or they will have to wait another 12 months[:D]

urgent message,,
loaf missing,, and a gaggle (think that right),of ducks seen dragging a suspicious bag down to the very near-by river,
the ducks can be easily recognized,, Cos most or them are dressed in feathered outfits.
