While checking the council web site I came across a link for events......and a page on the RetroHerts 50s and 60s Day.
I didn't know the council ran such events.

Oh and if you are on twitter you can now follow HCC they are called hertscc.
And yes HCC do run such events esp at the Arcives and local studies

What a great day with the classic cars, band and archives, which we found fascinating. Never knew it was there and open daily, loved looking at the old photos. Was the day advertised anywhere else than on this forum?

It was in the Mercury.
Seeing a Ford Zephyr brought back memories as I learnt to drive in one of those in the 1960s.
It was also interesting to see the poster for the Who playing at the Corn Exchange in March 1965.

In honour of The Who concert there 45 years ago, 'Quadrophenia' was screened free at the Corn Exchange yesterday afternoon in an event organised by the Green Onions promoter supported by Hertford Film Club. Many scooter club members attended. One was telling me he'd seen the film about 200 times! Lesley Ash in 1979 certainly looked a bit different from nowadays.
