Whilst I would prefer retail and not another restaurant, anything that goes into the unit has to be welcomed IMHO (except another pound or charity shop of course). And at least it's a culinary genre that is not already served.

Nandos is the best of the bunch really - grilled chicken, salads and rice etc - also frozen yoghurt instead of ice cream for the kids [:D]

As a fairly frequent visit to South Africa (and fan of hot sauce) I can assure you (and the England chef) that you can get every single variety of Nandos sauce at Pick N Pay.

not a fan of Nandos myself. Eaten a couple of times and it's mostly bone and gristle.

That's odd - never found bones or gristle in my chicken breast fillets at Nandos before. Maybe you made a bad choice of dish. Also, Capitalist Piglet - I would keep any West Ham connections to yourself give the goalie's performance in SA [8D]

From their website: "Our aim is not to be just another chain of restaurants. We want each Nando's restaurant to be individual and to reflect the characteristics of its location". Hmmm - the one I went to was in Milton Keynes - maybe thats why the 'characteristics' of the meal was shi*e.

I can't see what you're all complaining about. Earlier in the thread, Nando's themselves confirmed they weren't coming to Hertford, so it's not an issue. Personally, I'd love them to come. I love their food. As for it all being bone & gristle, well, it's a chicken cut in half, marinated and flame-grilled. It's not as if they strip the meat off and leave the chaff behind. They obviously source cheapo chickens. But then again, I doubt any chain restaurant goes out of it's way to source the best quality chucks available.
