men's shoes
My dad has asked me to try and get him some shoes as he has real problems only being a size 5, he wants leather lace ups or slip ons, traditional and comfortable as he is quite elderly, any suggestions locally?

I think you would need to go out of Hertford, I would have said the Clarks shop either in the Howard Centre, Welwyn Garden City or at Brookfield Farm would be an idea, if he has trouble getting that size you need a specialist shoe fitter and those are the only two I can think of that would possibly do a smaller size. Have you thought about doing a web search for makers of shoes for smaller mens feet???

I have the opposite problem, being a women with size 9 feet I usually end up with mens shoes (good job I'm not a girly girl)! [:D]
I suppose it is obvious to suggest looking in the boys section of any shoe shop for him, only having a 9 year old son with size 5 feet I have seen quite a few pairs like that in many shops (Stead & Simpson/Matalan/Brantano etc).
