Hertford C&C site is the obvious answer http://ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1400 I was there for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I must say I was very impressed. AFAIK you don't have to be a C&C member to use it - we aren't. BBQ's are ok as long as off the ground.

I second that. I'm not a member either and have used it on more than one occasion. You could be anywhere - certainly not obvious that you're in Hertford.

We used to visit the Hertford Caravan and Camping Club quite fequently when my children were younger during the 6 weeks holidays, for 2 summers we had a caravan in the summer store and camp. I second that Minnie you could be anywhere its a lovely camp site and there is even a dog walk but you must keep your dog on a leader all of the time. I work in WGC and one of the women I work with spends two weeks of the school holiday at the Hertford C&C. She says it is one of the nicest pitches in the country!

hi there, I thought it was reasonably priced, bigger than i expected, well mantained, clean, friendly and not too over crowded. I live in a flat so it was nice for my dog, she thought she had a new big garden!! Enjoyed walking around the park and up too the country pub ( can not remember the name)had some friends down for a bbq and had generally a lovely time. am now considering becoming a member so i can visit once a month. i also got over my fear of caming !! was not as bad as i thought it would be :)

I am camping there this Sat night despite living a short walk away. Myself and a friend plus kids, BBQ and a glass or 2 = a great evening
