Carvery?
Any recommendations for a good Sunday carvery locally? Could only think of The Feathers at Wadesmill!

Went to the Feathers last Sunday and unfortunately it wasnt very good. Have always had a nice meal here in the past but I won't be rushing back. The meat was ok but all the veg had been cooked to death, the gravy had the consistency of water, the yorkshires and stuffing were i'm sure Aunt Bessies and the potatoes tasted like they had been deep fried. I will say one of the little ones had the sausages and mash from the kids menu and that was quite good.
They are running an offer of buy one get one free on adult meals so maybe the quality has suffered because of this.
Would also like to find another carvery locally to try ?

Don't have much experience of them, but last Mothers Day took mine to Sow & Pigs at Thundridge which was excellent

I hear that there is a great carvery at The Bridge House in North Road. Not sure about beer but I am assured that the food is great. I will be eating there myself on 16th December.

Just returned from the Rose and Crown at Tewin. I concur with Robbo's assessment. Very good value, friendly service and very tender, well cooked joints. Recommended!!
