Hertford RFC vs Barnes - Crunch match.
This is the Club's biggest game of the season so far. Barnes come to Hoe Lane as league leaders and are unbeaten to date. Hertford have just lost the one game away at Dorking who are currently in second place. Hertford are third in the league (1 point behind Dorking & 6 points behind Barnes).
Both sides scored over 60 points each last Saturday, so the scene is set for a fantastic day of rugby! The 1st XV would like to see as many Hertford supporters there as possible and to get behind the team right from the start. The atmosphere and noise created by a large crowd at Hoe Lane gives such a huge lift to the players.
Please remember that entrance is just £5.00 per person but £3,00 for Members showing their Membership Cards and FREE for all children under 16.

That red blur on the upper deck would be me going bonkers. Quite how a team could go from being so good to so inept and then back again in the space of an hour will remain a mystery to me for years to come.

For those interested I have just seen footage of the winning try on the Hertford RFC message board (note: please turn down the volume on your speakers towards the end if you are offended by the odd expletive).

For me one of the best he has ever taken was one at the Staines match showing the monsoon type rain that fell during the game.

The Away crunch match happens next Saturday.
With three league games to go, Hertford are one point ahead of Barnes. If the last two games go to form it will be this match which decides who wins the league.

I'm guessing the result wasn't in Hertford's favor this weekend as not seen any reports or pics???

Yup.........wounds being licked. Hertford play the better rugby but perhaps out-thunk/thought/thinked...........the venerable master Windsock will surely provide a better insight as I'm sure he was there on the day.

I was there, along with well over a hundred other Hertford supporters. Apart from a yellow card offence stopping a try, the real Hertford team didn't show up until after half time. After the first few minutes it became one way and another five minutes would have seen a win. Barnes deserved the win, they played their game better than we played ours.
