Looking forward to hearing from Firedupinside. But I am also pleased there are 13 Independent candidates in East Herts District elections. I reckon we will get more Indies than Labour & Libdem combined.

Has anyone yet had sight of the leaflet about the other thing we're supposed to vote on the change to "first past the post" / proportional representation or AV or whatever! I haven't and am not sure what is going on as the adverts are on the TV and nothing arrived!!!![}:)]

yeah we got the no leaflet. is it true only 3 countries use AV and one is getting rid? It sounds insane. Because of that it left me wondering how accurate the No leaflet is.

AV isn't perfect and the Tories know that. That's why they offered it to the LibDems as one of the conditions of the coalition agreemnent. There are better ways of doing proportional representation. STV is one of them and that works quite well in Scotland when choosing their parliament. The analogy of the 4th placed sprinter winning the gold medal that the No campaign are using is one of the most flawed arguments I've ever heard. Scores for an ice skater or gymnast would be more apt, where an overall score decides the postition, not the score from one individual judge. If AV doesn't get through on 5th May there will NEVER be another chance to change the voting system.

Wouldn't David Davies be the Tory leader if they had used firts past the post for their leadership election rather than AV?
