CCTV appeal after traxi driver assault.

I don't understand why the police released this 2 and a half months after the crime was committed?

Because in my numerous dealings with the police (as a victim)regarding theft forgeries, vandalism (with exceptional CCTV footage, assaults on my staff etc etc, they are generally useless. I have always had to do the leg work myself. They would be circumstances when I just would not bother to report the crime.

Why?

Because they bothered to get a taxi from Oxford Circus in the early hours all the way to Hertford, then legged it and were so desparate to make their escape that they beat up the cab driver. Okay, let's assume they live somewhere else........Hemel Hempstead perhaps. I know, let's get a cab back to a town 30 minutes drive away from where we live in the stupid small hours of the morning when we have no hope of public transport to get home. Bearing in mind also that the reason they got they cab was because they had likely had a jar or two and would not be driving, hence the need for a cab back to where they could walk home. Of course there is always the chance that they drove to Hertford, dropped their car off, got a train to London and then got a taxi back to pick up their car. Hmmmmm.....

Exactly my thoughts! Maybe drove from Puckeridge or Buntingford or Ware. Beeching's cuts can give a lot of reasons for movement like that. Probably none live in Hertford and they had left the car in Gascoyne Way car park or nearby, probably in Fore Street, hence the movement towards the area.
