We used this company last year for a load of 11 and 12 year olds and they absolutely loved it. The location has changed to Sawbridgeworth I see (it used to be up at Barkway) but I have no reason to doubt that it will be just as good. [url]http://www.battlefieldlivehertfordshire.co.uk/#[/url]

Anyone else find it faintly perverse that kids are being encouraged to run around with guns shooting their mates?

Not really when I was young boys "played war" and we used sticks as pretend guns. Most boys will always enjoy playing at shooting no matter what and I haven't read about any of the many kids I played with 30+ years ago, going on to shoot anyone in real life!

I think it is good stuff for boys to do and much better than sitting in playing computer games. I have used the zap sports at Broxbourne (next to Paradise) and can thoroughly recommend them in terms of price and service. The staff were excellent. The only advice I would give is that it works better with the more people you have. Both times I only had 6 booked so first time we doubled up with another group (which was a bit of a failure as they were 3 years older) and the second time, one boy couldn't make it due to illness so we had 5 which meant 2 versus 3. The staff did brilliant and rotated the boys but would be better with about 10 to 20 boys.

Don't get me wrong I can see it being great fun and no doubt when my boy is a bit older football parties will change into this sort of thing. Perhaps my comment should be classed as thinking out loud on the human condition.
