Bus service to Haileybury school
Does anyone know if there is a bus service that links Haileybury school to Hertford twon centre? or to a rail station? How much does a bus cost?

I've seen a mini bus driving through Hertford going to Haileybury in the mornings but I don't know where it stops. Ask the school, most independent senior schools run their own mini buses / coaches to pick up the children from the surrounding areas.

The 324 bus run by GoldenBoy goes from Hertford Bus station to Broxbourne station via Hertford Heath (past Haileybury). Not sure about cost and I think they're only about once an hour.

Thank you very much for your answers. Very helpful. Another silly question: does the train line from Hertford North go to Cambridge?

PS I should perhaps explain taht all these questions are because I am currently living outside the UK but we will be moving back and to the Hertford area so we have no idea about what's going on!

There is a train from London to Cambridge that goes via Hertford North, I've caught it back from King's Cross a couple of times - I think it may only be late at night, though.

You normally have to change at Stevenage. Depending on when you go it can take a while as the Stevenage trains are (ridiculously) hourly evenings and weekends. There are semi-fast trains from Stevenage to Cambridge, but you may not connect with one. It is occasionally quicker to go from Hertford East and change at Broxborne (this may be due to engineering works). The best bet is to plug "Hertford" (not specify a station) and Cambridge in National Rail Enquiries (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk) and see what you get.
