Flu Jab in Hertford
Hi
Would anyone know if there is anywhere in Hertford that offer the flu jab, other than the doctors. I am not entitled to get it at my doctors and after last years flu, I would like to pay for a jab, however, I don't want to have it done at the Boots in Liverpool St.

All surgery's offer the flu jab even if you are not entitled to get it for free, you just have to pay privately for it, ask your GP about it

Asda Stevenage....Not sure of the price but it's less than £10.
They may well do it at Harlow as well.

my GP surgery, on ware Road, are not doing any flu jabs privately. They recommended a pharmacy in Sele Farm but they are charging £30!!!! think I will pop over to Asda - thank you!

Tesco also provide this service for £10. I believe it is done at any store with a pharmacy,so Ware would be the closest,but I would phone to check just in case.

Having a reaction to the flu jab is more to do with your body makeup and genes than the different strains of flu they mix up. Anyone who is allergic to eggs is not able to have one. On the only two occasions I had them provided for free through work I was rough as anything and kept getting chest infections all winter. Now it could be I was unfortunate, but it put me off having them again. Having the jab won't necessarily protect you from all strains of flu and should not be viewed as meaning you won't get it. However, for the elderly and those at risk (heart conditions/asthma/ diabetics etc) it could save a worse infection that could be life-threatening to them.
