Pleased to report that the BH is alive and kicking as a Free House with clean toilets, good choice of real ales, good value food but an annoying TV. [:)]

Was in there the other night (first visit since pre '88) Pleasant enough pub but the TV was annoying. Not a single person watching so why bother?

Eveyone moaning about the TV...why don't some one who knows the landlord suggest its a bad idea? Or do they read this forum?

Yes Woody popped in myself with some friends, and what a great place it is again. Strange that everyone is talking about the TV. I actually liked watching the sport in a pleasant environment. I think if people don't want the TV on they should just ask. Reply ID 84691

I agree that the TV is watched whenever sport is shown and it is a good place to go and watch a decent footie match.
It's the mundane channels that are shown at other times and at an invasive volume that annoy. I did speak to the landlord about the TV being a distraction when no-one was watching it and his response was to turn the volume down.

We went to the BH last Friday lunchtime. Ordered simple cheeseburgers and chips... the burger was sublime..I think home made, with lovely creamy coleslaw and the cheese was really tasty mature cheddar. The atmosphere was also very good. I think it has become a really good pub.

Can confirm that beer and food is excellent and yes tv is annoying, should be restricted to certain sports events only. You can preorder food by phone using debit card which seems a good idea. There are major changes taking place in the garden which will be a winner if it stops raining.
